UNSW – South Sydney Rabbitohs Touch Football

2021 NSW Touch Junior State Cup Information

Overview

The NSW Touch Junior State Cup is the premier touch tournament for kids in New South Wales. The tournament brings together representative touch affiliates from all over NSW and is the largest touch football competition in Australia.

The following document outlines all of the main information you need. If there is anything that we have missed, please chat to the team manager or to Casey Morton via email.

State Cup 2021

The 2021 Junior State Cup will be held in Wagga Wagga from Friday 26th February to Sunday 28th February.

Games are played across all three days, so players are expected to arrive in Wagga Wagga in time for their first game (as early as 7am on the Friday). As such, we recommend arriving on the Thursday evening.

Training

Training times are at the discretion of the coaches, however, you should expect to train twice a week in the lead up to the tournament. There may be a small break for Christmas, however, it is also likely that teams will have some form of training over this time.

Cost

The costs of the tournament are outlined below. For new parents, I understand that this may be somewhat complex, so please let me know if you have any questions.

Cost 1: Club Fee

The club fee, payable to the UNSW – South Sydney Rabbitohs Touch Club, covers all club expenses incurred for the tournament, including:

  • Coaching fees
  • Ground hire charges
  • Equipment
  • Insurance
  • Off field shirt for all players

The Club Fee does NOT include any on-field playing uniform.

The 2021 Club Fee is $200 per player. We do take Active Kids vouchers for this. Please go to www.unswtouchfootball.org.au/active-kids/ to provide voucher details.

Cost 2: Playing Uniform

Playing uniform can be ordered through our online store. Playing uniform includes:

  • Playing singlet (compulsory)
  • Playing shorts (compulsory)
  • Playing socks (compulsory)
  • Trucker hat (optional)

You do not need to purchase new uniform if you have it from playing for us at last years 2020 Junior State Cup.

Cost 3: NSW Touch Tournament Registration

This will be payable directly to NSW Touch at a later date. This must be paid to them to register your child for our team. The cost is this is usually in the vicinity of $90.

Fundraising/Sponsorship

As you can see from the above, this is an expensive tournament to attend. As such, we welcome all ideas for fundraising. Alternatively, if you have any sponsors who are willing to come on board and help subsidise the cost of this tournament, please let us know.

Accommodation

We have booked accommodation in a range of towns close (within 1 hour drive) to Wagga Wagga. If you require accommodation, please contact Brienna Anderson via email ([email protected]). Parents who would like accommodation can have one of our bookings at the price that we have paid for it, and as such, accommodation will be allocated on a “first come – first served” basis.

Accommodation is limited, so please ensure you speak with Brienna to reserve your space.

Other Questions

If you have any questions at all, please get in touch with your team manager, coach or with Casey and we will be happy to answer them.

Thanks for being a part of our club!
