With less than a week until Wagga, we thought it wise to send out some information and get all parents and players up to speed on what to expect. We have been super impressed with the efforts of our boys and girls and cant wait to see them all having fun on and off the field.
Where is Wagga?
The tournament will be held at the Jubilee Park, in Wagga Wagga. Its about a 4.5 hour drive from Sydney, or about an hour from Cootamundra.
Where is the club accommodation?
The club accommodation is in Cootamundra, which as im sure everyone is aware, is about a 50-60 min drive from Wagga. Being a new club, it was extremely hard to find accommodation in Wagga, and this was the very best we could do.
Our club has two locations, and if you booked accommodation with us, you should have received an email by now advising you of where you are staying. Please let us know if you have not received this.
When do the kids play?
Games are held from Friday morning through to Sunday afternoon. Finals are usually held on Sunday, so if the kids dont make it through to finals, they may not play on the Sunday

Should we leave Sydney on Thursday, or wait until Friday?
The short answer is, leave Thursday afternoon. Games start early Friday, and the last thing you want is to be driving for five hours at 3am in the morning on Friday.
If you are staying with us, we have booked you in from Thursday to Sunday.
Do you have any tips on what to bring?
The State Cup is a behemoth of a tournament. The days are long and it is often very hot. Here is what I recommend you bring:
- Sun safety stuff (hat, sunscreen)
- Plenty of water and lollies
- Lunch food if you don’t want to buy from the fields
- Spare black socks. I recommend at least three pairs. All players are generally required to wear our Rabbitohs socks, however, if the entire team bring some spare black socks, you may be able to get away with wearing these in games. Remember, we only provide you with one pair.
- A camp chair. These are a godsend when you are trekking to and from fields. It will make watching games a lot more enjoyable
If I have questions, who do I speak to?
Our tournament manager for the competition is Alex Rosenbaum. A seasoned campaigner at touch tournaments, she will be your port of call if you have any major dramas. If you have any minor questions, its best to speak to your coach first though.
Code of Conduct
A gentle reminder that, upon accepting a position in our representative teams, you also agree to abide by the NSW Touch Code of Conduct. Our sport is inclusive, and we maintain respect for everyone, including players, coaches, referee’s and parents. By all means, support your kids with all of your heart, but please leave the coaching to the coaches and the refereeing to the refs.
Looking the part
On a final note, we have some spare merchandise for sale, if you are wanting to look the part. We have limited numbers, so if you wish to purchase anything (like the items below), simply head to our shop. Items need to be purchased by Tuesday to ensure you receive them by the tournament.
